NRSI Environmental Initiative Scholarship


The NRSI Environmental Initiative Scholarship offers one $1,000.00 award to a student in the Waterloo Region District School Board or the Waterloo District Catholic School Board who has displayed academic commitment during their years of secondary school and plans to continue their education at a recognized post-secondary institution in the field of Biology, Ecology, or the Natural Environment. 

To apply for this scholarship you will need:

A cover letter outlining your qualifications including a description of related volunteer activities

A letter of reference from one of your secondary school teachers.

A letter of reference from a community leader indicating your involvement in a community initiative.

A copy of your most recent academic transcript.

Please declare your ancestry. 

We need to receive your application by June 30th to consider you for the scholarship. 

NRSI Indigenous Environmental Initiative Scholarship


The NRSI Indigenous Environmental Initiative Scholarship offers one $1,000.00 award to an Indigenous high school student who has displayed academic commitment during their years of secondary school and plans to continue their education at a recognized post-secondary institution in the field of Biology, Ecology, or the Natural Environment. 

To apply for this scholarship you will need:

University of Guelph Scholarships


The Natural Resource Solutions Scholarship for Laboratory and Field Work in Ecology


Students enrolled in Laboratory and Field Work in Ecology (BIOL3010) are eligible. The scholarship of $1000 is awarded to the student with the highest grade in the course.

The Natural Resource Solutions Prize for Field Ecology


Students enrolled in Field Ecology (BIOL4410) are eligible. The $1000 prize is awarded to the student with the highest grade in the course. It is called a ‘prize’ instead of a scholarship because the winner may be a graduate.
