NRSI - History

NRSI was founded in Waterloo, Ontario in 1998 by its three owners: David Stephenson (Senior Biologist), Robert Steele (Senior Aquatic Biologist), and Elaine Gosnell (Senior Terrestrial / Wetland Biologist). The focus of the company was environmental consulting focused on aquatic, wetland and terrestrial biology.

Today, our goal is the same. We provide high quality biological solutions for many projects including (though not exclusively) energy, construction, restoration, and transportation. Our staff has worked throughout Ontario on a wide range of biological projects. In November of 2009, we started our 1000th project. These projects have included inventory, research, management and impact analysis of natural features.

Since its inception, Natural Resource Solutions Inc. has continuously strived to diversify the quality and strength of its services. We have successfully accomplished this by increasing the number of staff biologists from 3 to 25. Most recently, we have expanded our technological capabilities with investments and expertise in spatial technologies such as GIS, GPS and CAD.
