About our winner:

Christopher was chosen because of his acedemic achievements, his outstanding volunteer commitment to many environmental causes and his decision to further his education in Honours Environmental and Resource Studies.

He is a member of the Environmental team at Southwood Secondary School. This year the team sold reusable water bottles to raise money for The Ryan's Well Foundation, which digs wells for villages in Africa. The team also sold tree saplings and fair trade coffee to help raise money for environmentally related charities.

He has also helped out with a population survey of blazing star flowers at the Pinery Provinical Park, and has been involved in tree planting - an important effort for habitat rehabilitation.

Congratulations Christopher on being accepted to the Environmental Resource Sciences Program at the University of Waterloo. All the best in your studies!
